I just rewatched this Brian de Palma mystery recently – and while it’s almost operatically overdone in parts, it’s also impressively, audaciously stylized, with one or two long cinematic set pieces that make this 1980 murder mystery worth a revisit. On this day in 1963, TV showman Perry Como's The Perry Como Show ceased its weekly airings on NBC and became a series of monthly shows, alternating with Kraft Suspense Theatre, The Andy Williams Show and The Road West. The weekly Como show continued on for the next four seasons.Perry Como was one of television's earliest stars. The barber-turned-singer already had numerous hit records to his credit when, in 1948, NBC decided to bring cameras into the radio studio and simulcast Como's radio s

The Los Angeles Kings had a 3-0 edge in this year’s Finals, but the New Jersey Devils scraped out – and scrapped out – victories in the last two games, to prolong the contest and return it to the West Coast. But tonight, the Kings have home ice, as well as a 3-2 advantage – though the Devils have momentum, and a shot to send this year’s Stanley Cup championship to a Game 7.
