This 2008 movie version of Peter Morgan’s fascinating play was adapted by Morgan himself, and stars the two actors who brought the characters of David Frost and Richard Nixon to life on stage: Michael Sheen and Frank Langella. It’s a captivating movie – one which already has worked its way, in my viewing patterns, to “spider-web” status.

SEASON FINALE: This season finale won’t have anything to do with the bombing at the Boston Marathon. But watch it, with respect, and think: These men and women are representative of some of the first responders who reacted to that terrorist tragedy.

SEASON FINALE: This series has built to a very emotional and unpredictable close this season, with the past few episodes all presenting some very real, very raw, totally unexpected moments. So for tonight’s season finale, expect the unexpected – and some very strong acting.

Here’s what to watch for, other than the “knockout” round which pits singer against singer. Will the ratings remain constant, or go down, in this less compelling portion of this series? To me, the blind judging part is the best segment of this show – and that’s now over.

Ken Burns, his daughter Sarah and her husband David McMahon collaborated on this 2012 documentary, making its PBS premiere tonight after a limited theatrical run last year. It’s a tense, evocative study of the 1989 rape and assault of a Central Park jogger – a crime that sent five teenagers to jail for seven years, even though subsequent evidence suggests strongly they were innocent.
