This is an observation, not a recommendation. Tonight NBC reveals the flaw in presenting its Saturday-night “same-week” prime-time reruns of new late-night episodes of Saturday Night Live. Namely, when the late-night show is in reruns, then the Saturday-night show has nothing new to present. So tonight, we get a cut-down Jeremy Renner / Maroon 5 episode of SNL at 10 p.m. ET, and a repeat Adam Levine / Kendrick Lamar SNL at 11:29 p.m. ET. If you’re going to watch both, especiall

What he gained, though, was a majestic creature with spirit to spare, and a brilliantly photographed film about a horse and his trainer, and their separate grim journeys through World War I. Jeremy Irvine stars as the trainer – but watch for Peter Mullan as Ted Narracott, who figures prominently in War Ho

When is a Fellini movie not a Fellini movie (not completely, anyway)? When it’s this 1948 Italian film, because it’s directed by Roberto Rossellini, who also wrote the screenplay. But others who contributed to the story include both Federico Fellini and Jean Cocteau, and Fellini himself, in this rarely televised movie, has an onstage role as well, as the Tramp. Anna Magnani (pictured) stars.

Tonight’s edition features a report by Ted Koppel, who usually reports on international issues. Tonight, though, he focuses on the United States, and this country’s sometimes shocking treatment of juvenile prisoners, whom Koppel finds stuck away in adult prisons, sometimes put in solitary confinement for their own protection.
