When is a Fellini movie not a Fellini movie (not completely, anyway)? When it’s this 1948 Italian film, because it’s directed by Roberto Rossellini, who also wrote the screenplay. But others who contributed to the story include both Federico Fellini and Jean Cocteau, and Fellini himself, in this rarely televised movie, has an onstage role as well, as the Tramp.
