This day of coverage, like these proceedings in the Senate, hone in on the second article of impeachment – obstruction of Congress. At various points in the day, take a moment to hop around on your TV channel guide, and see how various news organizations are, or are not, covering the proceedings. CBS has slipped away for soap operas. Fox News, especially at night, goes with its own programming, such as Hannity. Sometimes, what is avoided is as instructive as what is televised. Pr

SERIES PREMIERE: CBS tapped the legacy of The Twilight Zone in hopes of enticing viewers to subscribe to its CBS All Access streaming site, and also relied upon another sizable fan base, of the Star Trek canon, to offer a new spinoff series exclusively for All Access. This is the penultimate episode of this inventive series, and tonight’s episode takes Michael, Janet and the gang to a better place -or, at least, to the actual Good Place. But if that’s true, what happens there? And does The Good Place have at least one more mind-blowing twist before it shuffles off this mortal coil, again?

The nonfiction political miniseries of the year continues: Day 2 of the Senate Impeachment Trial of President Donald J. Trump. In yesterday’s Day 1, one of the few things the Senate agreed upon, and accomplished, was to extend the initial proceedings of amendment-arguing from two days to three. So you can look forward to more of this tomorrow as well. And if you watch any of this, and feel compelled to turn it off because one speaker or another has tested and exhausted your patience, at le

Last week, this Nova survey of the planets in our solar system began with Jupiter. Now we’re looking at Saturn. The order of planets being presented clearly, in the long run, is neither alphabetical nor in the placement of orbit around the sun. So is it size? Many of you amateur astronomers, or readers with basic knowledge of basic science and facts, may know the answer of that already. But I’m confused, without looking it up. What about Uranus? Check local listings.
