In the first two episodes of Season 2, Villanelle (Jodie Comer) has been struggling to survive since being stabbed, quite seriously, by her adversary and secret crush, Eve (Sandra Oh). But while fighting back from near death, Villanelle has managed to increase her personal body count by one victim per week: a mercy killing (as she saw it) in the season premiere, and the offing of a Misery-like creepy captor last week. As she left that latter crime scene, Eve was just entering it, but the two hav

Last week’s final-season premiere was indeed satisfying – just the dragon flight scene alone made the episode a winner. But the alliances and betrayals are being shifted early and often – and, as always, it pays great dividends, on this series, to pay particular attention to the women, who are as devious and dangerous as they are powerful and ambitious.

Last week’s Billions showed Axe at his most resourceful, and perhaps at his most ruthless. Tonight, one of Axe’s former proteges sets out to demonstrate similar attributes, with Axe himself as the target. Oh, and Chuck and Wendy continue to negotiate their relationship after he betrayed her by publicly acknowledging their private bedroom predilections.

The last scene of last week’s Barry had the protagonist meeting, face to face, his acting school girlfriend’s former boyfriend, Sam, who had choked and abused her. The expression on Barry’s face indicated that Sam may not be in many more episodes after tonight’s.

Selina Meyer is usually seen making the wrong move at every turn, like a political Basil Fawlty. But last week, during a televised presidential debate, she stumbled accidentally on a right move, by, in a frustrated and unchecked moment, telling her younger female competitor to quit whining and “man up.” Not a politically correct thing to say, which was precisely why it seemed to resonate – and may have saved Selina’s campaign.

Auli’i Cravalho provides the singing and speaking voice for the central character in this wonderful 2016 Disney animated musical film, and Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda provides her signature song, the inspirational “How Far I’ll Go.” Equally impressive, though, is the performance by Dwayne Johnson as Maui, the demigod who gets to sing some pretty memorable songs of his own.

Spike Lee’s 2018 movie comes to HBO tonight, starring John David Washington in the true but improbable tale of police officer Ron Stallworth, who in the 1970s went undercover and infiltrated the Ku Klux Klan. How? With lots of help from Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver), a fellow officer who became the white face to Stallworth’s disembodied phone voice. And somehow, it worked…

TCM is showing this 1984 cult film at 10:15 ET tonight – but it should have waited 45 minutes longer. This Is Spinal Tap is the kind of satirical movie that deserves to be played all the way up to 11…

In what’s become one of our favorite holiday treats, here is Michael Keaton’s 2015 creepy rundown of what’s in his Easter basket – a stuffed bunny, a DVD of the movie Friday and some Jordan almonds, among other delights. Keaton seems equally happy to share as he is white-knuckling the whole thing...
