SEASON PREMIERE: Prime-time game shows continue to attempt a comeback this summer – and here comes the return of an ABC experiment, tried last year, in which contestants have to answer a marathon of questions without missing three in a row. It’s okay, as quiz shows go – but even with the presence tonight of Ken Jennings, it’s no Jeopardy!

This long-running British fundraising event finally came to the U.S. last year. The second annual telecast arrives this year with a naturalized American citizen, formerly from Scotland, as host: Craig Ferguson, shifting from his former CBS home to NBC for the occasion.

Last week’s episode ended with the death of an original – the original – and that’s a death that ought to resonate deeply throughout the clone community.

In tonight’s new episode, Amy becomes obsessed with a chef, and has her leg eaten off. Let’s hope those are the subjects of two completely unrelated comedy sketches.

Tonight’s scheduled guests: Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, Jodie Foster, and, as the musical guest, Sir Elton John. Just another “average” week for The Graham Norton Show.

You can make a decent argument that in four seasons, ABC’s Nashville has said pretty much all of what it has to say. But if Wednesday’s episode is indeed the end of the series, I’m still going to miss it...

With its sequel, Finding Dory, about to hit theaters, ABC has timed well its latest prime-time repeat of the 2003 Finding Nemo original, still a very charming movie, with a delightful yet somewhat sad comic vocal performance by Ellen DeGeneres as the forgetful Dory.

Tony Randall is hilarious in this 1957 spoof of Madison Avenue, a comic version of Mad Men set and filmed during the actual era depicted in Mad Men. Randall plays the title character, an advertising copywriter – a sort of B-company Don Draper – who lands a sex-symbol spokeswoman, played by Jayne Mansfield, on the condition that he’ll pretend to be her latest lover. It’s the first of several Jayne Mansfield movies shown tonight on TCM, a roster that also includes, at 9:45

SEASON PREMIERE: I’m sort of surprised, if not astounded, that this show is back for a season two, given where and how it ended its first season. But here it is. Watch if you like, but I’ve long since moved away from Wayward Pines. For his take on the show's return, read David Hinckley's All Along the Watchtower.

SERIES FINALE: ABC seemed to dilute and transform this series into more of a hyperactive soap opera, then canceled it anyway. Regardless, this is the final episode of Nashville, which over its run, did some very nice shows, and deserved better treatment from its network. For a review and some predictions, see David Hinckley's All Along the Watchtower.
