Here’s an instant special not to miss. Saturday Night Live has replaced tonight’s scheduled repeat with a compilation of appearances by and sketches about Prince, who died Thursday at age 57. Prince first performed on SNL in 1981, and waited 25 years to perform on the show again in 2006. His final appearance was in 2014, where he performed an unbroken, three-song, eight-minute set. All that, and lots of sketches featuring “The Prince Show,” a funny faux talk show with Fre

In Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Eliza Dushku played another vampire slayer, Faith, who had the swagger, the moves, and the charisma to be a badass version of Buffy. Starting tonight, Dushku begins a recurring role on Banshee, and the word is that her character on this series will be even tougher. Though that’s difficult to believe, so until we tune in tonight, I guess we’ll have to take it on Faith.

This 1959 movie is considered one of the classic comedies of all time, and with more than a little justification. Jack Lemmon is great, and Tony Curtis surprisingly good, as musicians in Depression-era Chicago hiding from the mob by going undercover as members of an all-girl orchestra. And Marilyn Monroe, as one of the orchestra members who clearly isn’t faking, is tremendous.

The original movie version of this Neil Simon Broadway comedy hit is shown tonight at 10:15 ET on TCM, so perhaps it’s better to wait for that. Tonight’s CBS sitcom reboot, though, does at least offer a few reasons for watching. Oscar (Matthew Perry) begins dating the young blonde nanny working for a neighbor – and that neighbor, played by Teri Hatcher from Desperate Housewives, has no problem ridiculing him for dating such a younger woman. The episode’s title: “Fro
