SEASON PREMIERE: This is not a recommendation. For those who care (and I do not count myself among them, so I’ll keep this brief), Scandal returns tonight with its Season 7 premiere.

Last week, its return to NBC prime time, after so many years away, was a big deal. This week, Will & Grace already seems like a familiar and long-standing part of the current media landscape. That could be equal parts compliment and insult, so we’ll see how the next few episodes play out.

Tonight’s episode has Seth MacFarlane’s captain meeting, and becoming quite enamored of, the attractive captain of a mining space ship, whose intriguing name is Pria Lavesque. And why not? Pria is played by the very beautiful, and obviously game, Charlize Theron, MacFarlane’s former cinematic co-star in his 2014 Western movie comedy, A Million Ways to Die in the West.

Episode 9. Tonight’s episode is titled “Ice Cream, You Scream, We All Scream” – and since the show’s deranged killer, Brady (Harry Treadaway), has been seen driving an ice cream truck since the premiere episode, this particular episodic title is not that difficult to parse.

Paul Simon’s Graceland album was released in 1986, and took the music industry by storm. Some argued he was taking advantage of indigenous music and artists, others thought he was inadvertently supporting apartheid. But what he was doing was making a terrific album, and collaborating globally in a way that opened the door even more for what we now commonly call “world music.” All I know is, when the new-fangled technological miracle known as the compact disc finally was launche

The title of tonight’s Frontline isn’t just an examination of boisterous rhetoric. Rather, it’s an examination of the allegation that the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, had his half-brother killed – and what that may mean regarding the dictator’s temperament and determination. Check local listings.

“Naledi” is the Setswana word for ‘star,’ but it's also the name of a 90-minute documentary about efforts to revive a sickly, wild elephant that was found orphaned and near death in a private wilderness reserve...
