The first of the 2019 World Cup quarterfinal games is played today, with England, one of the pre-tournament favorites, facing Norway. England won all three of its games in Group D to win that division, while Norway went 2-1 in Group A, finishing behind tournament host France. It’s a big enough game to be shown on Fox, so here it is…

In tonight’s episode, Liv (Rose McIver) consumes the brains, and the personality, of a murdered teen contestant in a Miss Teen Seattle beauty pageant. That may or may not speed up the investigation into the girl’s death – but it certainly explains Liv’s peppy new fashion sense.

Last night’s debate had one leader in the current polls, Elizabeth Warren, on the 10-person stage – which allowed enough room for others, including Julian Castro and Amy Klobuchar, to break through. Tonight’s debate, by contrast, is top-heavy, with Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg, all elbowing each other for time and attention. And if those on the other end of the political familiarity spectrum in tonight’s debate are ever to make a dent in the

This 1992 comedy is such a funny, enjoyable legal comedy, it’s easy to overlook how dependent it is on the broad comic talents of its two stars, Marisa Tomei (who won an Oscar for her portrayal) and Joe Pesci (who perhaps should have). He plays the title character, a newly minted New York lawyer defending his cousin, who is accused of murder in rural Alabama. Oh, and give credit, too, to Fred Gwynne, who plays the judge who has a problem with Vinny’s wardrobe, attitude, and accent. &

All this week, National Geographic Channel has been filming in Yellowstone National Park, augmented freshly filmed pieces with live telecasts, and following different creatures at different parts of the park. Some of the more breakout natural stars, all week, have been hidden inside a beaver lodge: a quartet of young, weeks-old kits, photographed with their mother with an infrared camera mounted inside the lodge itself. All this week, I’ve been making animal puns – but for this final

The numbers for this year’s field of Democratic hopefuls competing for the party’s 2020 nomination for the presidency is so swollen, the Democratic National Committee and the NBC family of networks established an unprecedented series of stipulations and guidelines for these first debates of the 2020 election process. The 20 hopefuls who met the guidelines, regarding either percentages in certain polls or political donations in a certain number of states, get to take place in a televi

DOCUMENTARY PREMIERE: Thirty years ago, a demonstration from Chinese students seeking democratic reforms from their Communist government leaders led to a seven-week occupation of Tiananmen Square in the central heart of China. Then, tragically, a bloodbath, with the Chinese Army surrounding and invading the city and opposing the protesters with troops, guns, and tanks. Three decades later, this documentary establishes the context, explains the calls for reform, presents news and amateur footage

Let’s see. On Sunday, the first day of this four-day live TV look at the flora and fauna of Yellowstone National Park, I made a geyser pun. Yesterday, continuing the tradition, I made a bear joke. But tonight? The last thing I want to do is buffalo you…

Tonight’s installment of Drunk History tells, in inebriated form, the story of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s relocation to the United States, when they claimed New York City as their home – and were almost deported by J. Edgar Hoover, Richard Nixon and a resentful U.S. government. The real John and Yoko Ono Lennon are shown here; tune in tonight to learn who plays them, in this televised, inebriated ballad of John and Yoko.
