I thought Fiona Gallagher (played so powerfully by Emmy Rossum) had hit rock bottom several weeks ago on this show – but I was wrong. Last week, in a very emotional episode, she spun out of control even more, before being rescued by her family. But that rescue didn’t take completely, and tonight, she’s facing jail time.

Mad Men soon returns for its final season in two weeks -- and maybe more interesting even than the saga of self-sabotaging Don Draper, the series may best be remembered as part of an American television evolution that saw enormous changes in what we watch, and how...

We’ve made it to the Elite Eight, and today’s two games are found in the same place: on TBS. The action begins at 6 p.m. ET, when the South’s No. 1 seed, Florida, faces the lowest-seeded surviving Cinderella team, Dayton (ranked No. 11). The second game, beginning approximately 8:45 pm. ET, features the only time in this year’s tournament when a bracket’s top two seeds have survived to battle one another: No. 1 Arizona vs. No. 2 Wisconsin. The remaining teams in the

Today may be the ultimate gangster night on TV. Without editing or commercial interruptions, Cinemax presents the double-barreled double feature of 1972’s The Godfather, followed at 10 p.m. ET by its 1974 sequel/prequel, The Godfather, Part II…

Presented as one of TCM’s “The Essentials,” this 1940 Howard Hawks film is precisely that: Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell, demonstrating impossibly volatile chemistry in a reworking of Ben Hecht’s play The Front Page that set the standard, and the pace, for every fast-talking romcom duo ever since.

Louis C.K. returns as guest host. And since his own series, FX’s Louie, has been on a long hiatus, this is a TV appearance as rare as it is welcome. The musical guest: Sam Smith.

Here’s the tipoff to tonight’s first tipoff: It happens around 7:15 p.m. ET on CBS, when Michigan (No. 2 seed in the Midwest bracket) faces No. 11 seed Tennessee. At 7:25 p.m. ET on TBS, Iowa State, ranked No. 3 in he East, faces No. 7 seed Connecticut, one of several lower-seeded teams still alive this far into the tournament. (In their last game, they beat No. 2 seed Villanova in overtime.) Back on CBS at 9:45 p.m. ET, Louisville, seeded No. 4 in the Midwest, faces Kentucky, ranked

There’s something so quietly charming about this improv show, I enjoy watching it every time I tune to it – and I’m both delighted and surprised to learn that younger viewers, the target for this show now that it’s on the CW, appear to feel the same. It seems to embrace creativity and fun in equal measure – and how in the world can that be anything but good?

Jimmy Carter has been making the rounds this week – he just made his first appearance on The Colbert Report, and was unexpectedly hilarious – and tonight he’s scheduled as the top-of-show guest for Bill Maher. Also on the show: W. Kamau Bell and Josh Gad.
