Rihanna, as Marion Crane, checks into the Bates Motel tonight, with Freddie Highmore’s Norman Bates eyeing her every move (sometimes, from behind that hidden office-to-motel-room peephole) What could possibly go wrong? Not much, at least artistically, because this series, this season, is doing everything just right.

If you could choose a different ending to Breaking Bad would you? Netflix executives are already talking about so-called “branch narratives” and different ways to connect plot points in some of its adult dramas...

It’s getting easier to find and watch the games this year, now that we’re down to the Elite Eight. Today’s two games are televised by CBS, beginning at 2 p.m. ET, so there’s no need to switch networks in midstream – or mid-game.  South Carolina, seed No. 7, faces No. 4 seed Florida – my alma mater, by the way. Following that, at 5, we have a contest of two teams facing each other just as the brackets in their region predicted: No. 1 North Carolina vs. No.

John Oliver is off this week on HBO, so this is your only Sunday spot for a special recap and response to this week’s heightened Beltway drama. And boy, with the repeal-and-replace bill being pulled by House speaker Paul Ryan at (actually, after) the last minute, this show’s behind-the-scenes perspective ought to be even more illuminating than usual.

This stand-alone imported drama tells the story of the Bronte sisters, who rebelled against Victorian conformity by publishing now-classic literary works – including Charlotte’s Jane Eyre and Emily’s Wuthering Heights – initially under male pseudonyms. Those works are famous, much more so than the actresses portraying their authors. From left, Chloe Pirrie plays Emily Bronte, Charlie Murphy plays Anna, and Finn Atkins plays Charlotte. Tonight’s episode, “Something They Need,” is the penultimate episode of the season – an episode where, traditionally, all manner of hell breaks loose. And with a showdown looming between Rick’s forces and Negan’s, there’s no reason to expect tonight’s set-up episode to be any different.

Homeland has gotten stronger and stronger this season, and this week, Carrie (Claire Danes) gets increasingly central to the plot – well, to the plots, since her connections, and her long-time loyalties, are pulling her in two directions at once.

In tonight’s Episode 4 of Feud, Joan Crawford and Bette Davis are worried, in advance, about the critical reception they’ll be given upon the imminent release of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? The actresses playing them in this excellent and delightful FX miniseries, Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon, need not be similarly concerned. Come Emmy time this year, they’re both shoo-ins (or is it shoos-in?) to be nominated.

This series has only a few episodes left, and Lena Dunham, both behind the scenes and in front of the camera, has saved her best for last. This season has been the best yet for Girls, and with Hannah recently learning of her pregnancy, these last few installments are likely to have even more importance, drama and resonance. Tonight, Hannah revisits the surfing instructor (Riz Ahmed) who is the father of her future child – if she has the child, which many of her friends are surprised she&rs

The Elite Eight begin fighting tonight, with the winners of tonight’s two games moving on to prestigious Final Four. Both of tonight’s games are televised by TBS, beginning at 6 p.m. ET with the West’s No. 1-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs vs. No. 11 Xavier Musketeers, the only double-digit seed still competing. The Musketeers notched a thrilling victory against the No. 2-seeded Arizona Wildcats Thursday night, with fervid Xavier fan Bill Murray rooting them on from the stands. Watch f
