Mel Brooks has had quite a year, and it’s only June. The month after being saluted with an American Masters biographical tribute, he gets saluted again here, as this year’s recipient of the American Film Institute Life Achievement Award. Congratulations, Mel! Joining him for the festivities are, among others, comic cohorts Carl Reiner and Cloris Leachman, as well as Martin Scorsese, Sarah Silverman, Billy Crystal and more.

Because of yesterday’s rain delay, the action at today’s U.S. Open starts early, with Tiger Woods, among others, resuming his opening round even before ESPN joins the action at 8:30 a.m. ET. The rest of the day’s coverage is the same as Thursday’s (only with less rain expected): NBC takes over at 3 p.m. ET, and ESPN resumes at 5 p.m. ET. And after yesterday’s truncated play on the wet, soft course at the Merion Gold Club, look who’s leading: Phil Mickelson.

This 1947 movie has a cast worth watching, for sure: Humphrey Bogart gets to star, once again, opposite Lauren Bacall, with whom he fell madly in love three years earlier when she made her cinematic debut opposite him in To Have and Have Not. In 1946, they reteamed for The Big Sleep, then again a year later for this suspense movie about an escaped con out for revenge. Also starring: Agnes Moorehead.

SEASON PREMIERE: Season 2 of this series may end up falling victim to the same malady that affected it last season: Its visuals dazzle, while its writing does not. But with an even more central role for the lovely Olga Kurylenko as Vera, the dazzle level of the visuals goes up to 11.

Tonight’s guests include Jonathan Alter and Patrick Kennedy – and with some lines being crossed and others being tapped, there ought to be a lot to discuss this week.

SEASON FINALE: This final episode of the season showcases the global stunt that got so much attention when Vice helped engineer it in the first place: a visit in February to North Korea, and its controversial leader, Kim Jong-un.

Beginning today, the U.S. Open invites golfers to a short, stubborn course with lots of pro golf history: the Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, PA, fairly close to my neck of the woods. But days of drenching rains have softened this course a lot, which should make it easier for players – while today, the forecast is for so much rain that, come mid-afternoon, there may be no players on the course at all. But while golf is being played, here’s where you’ll find it: starting at 9 a.m.

Game 1 was close. Game 2 was a blowout by the Miami Heat. Game 3 was a blowout by the San Antonio Spurs. What to expect from tonight’s Game 4? Perhaps the unexpected. Definitely, both teams coming at each other hard.

For this 100th episode, Burn Notice presents a special flashback: going back 10 years in its characters’ lives, to show the first time Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) encountered Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar), then an IRA activist. This does not fall under the category of “meet cute.” And Donovan is behind the camera as well: He directed tonight’s episode.

Two fresh episodes are presented as a double feature tonight, and both have celebrities worth tuning in to see how they handle the host’s loose-cannon antics. On nthe first show, the guests include Jennifer Lopez. On the second, which begins at 11 p.m. ET, the guests include Dan Stevens, formerly of Downton Abbey before his character was so suddenly killed off, and Hayden Panettiere.
