Since David Bianculli launched TV Worth Watching in 2007, there's been a loyal group of readers coming everyday -- and a steady crowd that's been growing with us ever since. With this, our third web relaunch, we rediscovered a few articles that stood out for the comments that readers took the time to send in. The only thing better than writing about great work is reading about how others are connecting with the same material...and of course, how much they appreciate the effort. Below are a few (really, really) nice things said about us from readers and others on the web. Color us ever grateful -- and always on the look for the best content out there.

When Larry Hagman passed away in 2012, it was TVWW Contributor Ed Martin who had a story about the well-known actor that no one else had – his early appearance as a model for a comic book character. An enthusiastic reader wrote, "Awesome, TVWW, and in this case writer Ed Martin, have once again proved how truly excellent they are in their stories...and finding tidbits to share with their readers. Again, I say TVWW you are Awesome."

November 5, 2012 marked the fifth anniversary of the TVWW launch, and readers wrote in to congratulate David and the writers. One loyal reader said, "I tell people that I love TV, but that I only watch the hidden gems, the shows that you have to spend a lot of time digging for, unless you use TV Worth Watching to find them. Congratulations, and please, keep it up!"

A recent reader took the time to thank David and TVWW for confirming his interest in a new Encore presentation: "This is one of the reasons I love visiting your site everyday!...I had to decide whether I was going to invest in another new broadcast. You've sealed the deal and rest assured my dvr is set for both nights of what is sure to be most satisfying viewing. Thank you." (No...thank you, Keith.)

David's recent review of the Sherlock series on PBS Masterpiece Mystery series was enthusiastic about the modern-day updating of literature’s most classic sleuth is as clever as its protagonist… and so was one reader who wrote in: "I feel your blog site was made for me. Everything I enjoy watching...seems to end up being talked about here."

David loved the 2012 finale of "Justified", and readers agreed; one wrote "I actually started watching Justified - at your suggestion - when it premiered. For me, this show has the best writing, best acting, best comedy, and best drama on TV, and last night, the final scene/dialogue had some of the most powerful moments on the show as a whole. It actually brought tears to my eyes...I will be looking forward to Season 4. Thanks David, for tvworthwatching..."

Like him or not, Ricky Gervais is never dull. David -- like many of us at TVWW -- delight in his awkward, inappropriate antics. And so do TVWW readers, upon his three appearances in one week. One newly minted TVWW-Gervais fan wrote back, "Some shows you highlight I was already watching or would've watched anyways, but these little promoted gems keep me constantly re-organizing my DVR priorities..." Another chimed in, "Thank you -- not only does our local paper not have a TV critic, it doesn't even publish listings for most cable channels -- I read your site daily."

David wrote about TVWW being launched three years earlier on Nov. 5, 2007, the day the television writers went on strike -- and one reader wrote back, "I get so much more enjoyment from television since I started visiting this site a couple years ago. So many of my favorite shows are ones that I would have never tried at all..."

Sometimes a documentary comes along that not only is TV Worth Watching, it is TV essential to a national discussion. We were fortunate enough to find "Under Our Skin", a 2010 broadcast investigating Lyme Disease. It revealed and disproved accepted ideas around this chronic illness, and TVWW readers responded overwhelmingly. One wrote, "Thanks David...Your TV criticism is welcome and needed..."

David's review of HBO Films "Temple Grandin" prompted several readers to write and join in praising what remains one of the best bio-pics ever made for television. One reader wrote, "I wouldn't have known to watch if not for your recommendation, thank you..." and another, "I want to thank you for your website -- I have valued your opinion and been well rewarded for it. Thanks for saving me from hours of bad TV..."
