If ever there was a good year to stop being a full-time TV critic, this is it...I've watched just about all the pilots for the new fall shows and loved exactly one -- Fox' show about a Texas con artist, Lone Star. Alan Pergament

Alan Pergament was the television critic for the Buffalo News for 28 years and the TV Sports critic for several years before that. In his 40-year newspaper career, he has covered sports, the courts, the suburbs and crime stories.
