You know, by now, how superb this nature series is. And it continues tonight, with an episode devoted to Europe. And you don’t need the Internet to check out these lynx…

SERIES PREMIERE: This new series (with all of Season 1 dropping today in Hulu) takes the John Cusack character from the 2000 movie – which, in turn, was based on the very readable book by Nick Hornby – and reinvents the protagonist as a young black woman. Some of the resulting notes may sound a little off, particularly regarding the passionate musical tastes of someone living a generation later, but the structure and soul are sound. There’s still a lot of talking and confessing

The Bone Collector, who’s been shown to this point as a slowly simmering subplot, percolates a bit more energetically tonight, now that he’s moved to the same city as his nemesis Lincoln Rhyme. The episode title shows its hand: “Game On.”

They’ve made some changes to the lineup of tonight’s Graham Norton Show, pushing back Justin Timberlake to next week. This week, if the BBC America website is correct, the guests to be seen tonight include Mark Ruffalo, David Schwimmer, Tamsin Greig (that hilarious actress from Episodes), and Alicia Keys.

This long-running series, now in Season 11 and beginning its final quintet of new episodes, may or may not get the final send-off it deserves. But I hope it does, because Modern Family not only influenced society with its positive portrayal of a gay couple, but presented so many delightful performances, from its young actors as well as its established pros.

Tonight’s episode is the end of the current episodic trilogy: “Hell of a Week Part 3.” And even the promos suggest that all things may not end happily.

SERIES PREMIERE: Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who’s also stretched his TV muscles by producing Power, is one of the people behind this new ABC drama, based on a true story about a jailhouse lawyer (Nicholas Pinnock) who takes his newfound legal knowledge to the courts once he’s freed after serving time on a wrongful conviction. For a full review, see David Hinckley's All Along the Watchtower.

This week’s episode is keyed to Friday’s celebration of Valentine’s Day. Bob and Abishola are approaching their first such romantic holiday since she cared for him at the hospital – and how will they get together for this one, if they will at all?

Last week’s episode ended by dropping the name of a major person of interest – a new big lead in the fraud case that drained many millions from the McDonald’s Monopoly lottery contest. I’m not fully won over by the storytelling here, but the story being told is a wild one. Apparently, the firm organizing and overseeing the McDonald’s contest had its own in-house McBurglar…

This past week, politically, marked both Donald Trump’s post-acquittal victory and revenge lap, and the Democratic candidates’ debate in New Hampshire, as a prelude to this Tuesday’s primary. Lots of ground to cover, even with three well-connected Circus correspondents.
