SEASON PREMIERE: This is the Season 5 premiere for iZombie, and the season begins with a departure from the show’s usual structure. In almost every episode to date since becoming an assistant murder investigator, the zombie Liv (Rose McIver) has gone about solving her cases by tasting the brains of the murder victim, absorbing his or her personality and memories, and proceeding with that helpful helping of “insider” knowledge. But for tonight’s season opener, though Liv is indeed working on another murder case, this time there’s no corpus delecti. Which means, for once, the usually clever Liv is brainless…
