This fourth episode of Fosse/Verdon intersects closely with All That Jazz, Bob Fosse’s own exploration of the time when he was working simultaneously on a Broadway musical, TV special, and movie (and winning awards for all three). And, like All That Jazz, it examines the complex relationship between the choreographer, the Broadway star he loved and showcased, and a new dancer whose talent they both noticed instantly. In this new TV drama, real names are used, featuring Sam Rockwell as Fosse, Michelle Williams as Gwen Verdon, and tonight featuring Margaret Qualley as Ann Reinking.
