2019 NCAA MEN'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP
April 8, 2019  | By David Bianculli  | 3 comments

CBS, 9:00 p.m. ET

The officials missed it when Virginia player Ty Jerome, in the closing seconds of Saturday’s semifinal against Auburn, accidentally dribbled the ball against his own foot, regaining control and advancing in what should have been called a double dribble (pictured). It wasn’t called, and Virginia sank three free throws at the game’s climax to win – some say steal – the game. That’s how Virginia got to tonight’s final. Its opponent in this championship game, Texas Tech, got there the easy way, by beating Michigan State with a 10-point margin.
