This series is another example of how TV series actually can become reinvigorated once they announce their own impending conclusions. With the end in sight, Gotham can stop the teasing, and actually deliver on its premise and promise: presenting a much more involved take on the origin stories of the heroes and villains in the Batman universe. With only so many episodes left until Gotham is over, the good and bad guys – and good and bad girls – are beginning to approach their more familiar modern counterparts at last. In tonight’s episode, for example, Shane West returns as Eduardo Dorrance, who is very, very close to morphing into the brutish bad guy Bane. And by his side? Lee, the former Gotham mainstay played by Morena Baccarin.
