Even by this show’s standards, last week’s episode was really, really weird – but made room for Ann Dowd, who encouraged the new Antichrist, who got to kill a couple sacrificial (human) lambs, cause a call girl to spontaneously combust, and eventually be presented with a robotic recreation of his late, beloved satanic mentor, played by Kathy Bates (pictured). So now what?

Dear Ethan: It made me laugh, how right you are!! Not only was it not Ann Dowd, but I WAS conked by Nyquil as I watched that and wrote the Best Bet.
