2018 WORLD SERIES
October 27, 2018  | By David Bianculli

Fox, 8:00 p.m. ET

Tonight is Game 4 of the 2018 World Series – but it might as well be Game 5, because the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox played the equivalent of two full games last night. It was an 18-inning marathon, the longest World Series game in history: It began on the West Coast at 5 p.m. and ended there after midnight. The Dodgers prevailed with Max Muncy’s walk-off bottom-of-the 18th homer, but the pitching and bullpen staffs for tonight’s game are decimated, and the rest of the players will be exhausted as well. The Red Sox lead the series 2-1. The Dodgers have home field advantage. And the coaching decisions and lineups, in this one, may be crucial.
