2018 ESPY AWARDS

It’s been true for generations now, that some rock stars want to be movie stars and vice versa, and some athletes want to be all three. That’s why the ESPYS is such an interesting variation on the usual awards show circuit: It’s got plenty of representatives of celebrities from all three disciplines, and each one acts like an unabashed fan of the other. But expect some emotional moments too: awards are scheduled to be given to the female athletes who came forward to speak out against the sexual abuse allegedly committed by former USA gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar, and posthumous awards given to the coaches who died shielding students from gunfire in the Parkland, FL school shooting.
