COUNTERPART

Starz!, 8:00 p.m. ET

The characters from this show’s alternate dimensions have begun to meet one another. It started with J.K. Simmons’ meek government worker coming face to face with his deadly counterpart from the other place. More recently, an assassin from that same other dimension crossed to this world and was arrested after her double here, a virtuoso violinist, was murdered. And last week, that assassin met both of Simmons’ doppelgängers, and much preferred the meeker version. This week, the wife of Simmons’ secret agent from the other dimension (played by Olivia Williams, pictured) continues to show up in this world, where her counterpart remains in a coma. Oh, well, at least it's easy to tell them apart.

I am so fascinated by this show, one of the most character driven on tv.
Yet after 4 episodes, it feels like little plot has been revealed, and they'e still working on setting the stage-- defining characters and settings.
As fascinating as it is, it needs to be leading to something.....
