ELLEN'S GAME OF GAMES

SERIES PREMIERE: Ellen DeGeneres and company spent a lot of money on the set here, and doubtlessly a good percentage (or promise of a percentage) on Ellen herself – but if this game show, drawing from and expanding upon the feel-good games she plays occasionally on her daytime series, clicks in prime time, it’ll also be partially due to the contestants. They are so excited to be there, and taking part, and interacting with DeGeneres as the host, that they make the contestants on The Price Is Right look like shy depressives. And Ellen DeGeneres truly seems to be enjoying every moment of it, whether she's encouraging her players, or sending them for a multi-story fall down a trap door.
