THE VOICE

Last night’s two-hour Playoffs Round had Jennifer Hudson, then Blake Shelton, guiding their six-person teams to emotional and challenging performances, then slicing those teams in half. Hudson made the right choices, selecting the most electrifying or captivating singers from her group – and so did Shelton, from his, including Chloe Kohanski, pictured, performing a smartly subdued version of Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time.”  (Well, I correctly identified all six singers who advanced, so I’m biased.) That means there are six formidable competitors, so far, heading to next week’s live shows. And tonight, another judge, either Miley Cyrus or Adam Levine, has to halve his or her squad after coaching them to, and watching them, perform.
