RIVIERA
September 14, 2017  | By David Bianculli

Sundance Now, 3:00 a.m. ET

MINISERIES PREMIERE: The expansion and fracturing of the streaming TV universe continues – and now Sundance is getting in the game, with its new Sundance Now streaming service offering an exclusive new TV mystery miniseries to its paying customers. That series is Riviera, a 10-part drama imported from the U.K., and starring Julia Stiles and shot on location in the south of France. It’s created by Neil Jordan, writer-director of The Crying Game, and co-stars Lena Olin. As to whether this particular mix of Dynasty and Agatha Christie will lure new subscribers to Sundance Now, I say only: Yachts of luck. For a full review, see David Hinckley's All Along the Watchtower.
