THE LEFTOVERS

SERIES FINALE: I can’t remember the last time this has happened on TV – so if you can, let me know. Carrie Coon, right now, is at the center of two key investigations on two quality TV series, running on TV at the same time. One is FX’s Fargo, televised on Wednesdays, where she plays a police chief – and the other is The Leftovers, which concludes its series run tonight, with Coon (pictured, with co-star Justin Theroux) playing a woman trying to understand the sudden disappearance of her family by a so-called religious event years ago. This final season has been the show’s best, and even though asking for a clear resolution may not be an optimistic move, expecting a good episode of TV is well within the norm here.
