Jessica Lange had a blast, and no doubt secured a future Emmy nomination, playing Joan Crawford in FX’s recent Feud: Bette and Joan. But long before that, back in 1981, Faye Dunaway was playing Crawford, in an aggressively unflattering portrait in the movie Mommie Dearest – based on the book by her rebellious daughter Christina Crawford, portrayed in her more mature years by Diana Scarwid. And today, for Mother’s Day, you can tune in and see Mommie Dearest any time you want, because IFC is televising it over and over again, as a 24-hour marathon. Think of it, I guess, as A Christmas Story-type holiday marathon – only for moms and their children, and with wire hangers.
