TCM is up to the Vs in its alphabetical salute to the Oscars, and that leaves room, in prime time, for tonight’s showing of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1958 moody masterpiece, Vertigo. James Stewart plays a man with an almost twisted obsession with a former love, and Kim Novak plays the embodiment of that lost love – in more ways than one.
