Night II. It’s significant that ABC is presenting this four-part miniseries on the rise and development of the gay rights movement – and even more significant, in context, that it’s preceded by a fresh episode of Modern Family, the ABC sitcom that arguably has done more for gay rights, and subtle shaping of national attitudes and acceptance on the gay rights issue, than any other TV program since NBC’s Will and Grace.
