NATURE: "SPY IN THE WILD"
February 8, 2017  | By David Bianculli  | 2 comments

PBS, 8:00 p.m. ET

This Nature miniseries, built around animatronic creatures placed in natural environments to watch and capture how real animals react to them, is so much fun to watch. Tonight’s installment is called “Intelligence,” and shows such unpredictable interactions as a real squirrel stealing a “spy nut” from its mechanical counterpart. Well, “mechanical” isn’t the precise word to describe this fabricated squirrel replica, but what is? “Inhuman” doesn’t apply – and “insquirrel” just sounds wrong. Instead of “animatronic,” how about, say, “animaltronic”? I'm here to serve... Check local listings.

HELLO, HOW INCREDIBLE THESE "SPY IN THE WILD" CRITTERS ARE AND
HOW THEY LOOK SO MUCH KIKE THERE COUNTERPARTS, "THE REAL LIVE

WHO CAME UP WITH THIS IDEA? IS IT A TECH COMPANY, SOMETHING TO DO
WITH THE TELEVISION/ ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY OR WHAT?

IS THERE A PUBLIC TRADED COMPANY THAT ENGINEERED AND CREATED
THIS AMAZING TECHNIC TO SEE HOW THE ANIMAL WORLD REALLY FUNCTIONS?

LOVE WATCHING THE NATURE SERIES ON PBS.....THANK YOU F ROM A
