See 'American Masters' on Gore Vidal
August 4, 2012  | By Christy Slewinski

VIRAL VIDAL — PBS celebrates the life of author Gore Vidal, who died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at age 86, by streaming the 2003 American Masters documentary The Education of Gore Vidal. Tune in soon — it’s only available until August 9. Also be sure to read Ed Bark’s remembrances of Vidal — from his contributions to the Golden Age of Television to NBC’s adaptation of his book, Lincoln — as well a clip of Vidal’s infamous showdown with William F. Buckley Jr. during coverage of the 1968 Democratic National Convention. –CS
