'Truth' and Venom
August 1, 2013  | By Al Mannarino

This year’s San Diego Comic Con may have been taken over by big budget superhero films and popular television shows, but it’s films like Joe Lynch's Truth in Journalism – which pays homage to the film Man Bites Dog while remaining original and highly entertaining – that really make the convention a spectacular avenue for projects to get notice. Truth in Journalism was produced by Adi Shankar (Dredd), who last year shocked the SDCC convention with the release of Dirty Laundry, a short film starring Thomas Jane, who reprised his role as the Marvel anti-hero, The Punisher. This time around Shankar enlisted Ryan Kwanten (HBO’s True Blood) to play the Marvel villain Venom, aka Eddie Brock.
