1973: 'Barnaby Jones' Starts Solving Mysteries
January 28, 2021  | By TV WW  | 6 comments

On this day in 1973, CBS introduced the mid-season replacement, Barnaby Jones. The series starred former Beverly Hillbillies patriarch Buddy Ebsen as a retired private detective who gets back into the business when his son, also a P.I., is murdered. Lee Meriwether co-starred as Barnaby's widowed daughter-in-law and eventual business partner.

The series ran eight seasons.

The show blended elements of crime-solving with family dynamics, providing a unique twist on the classic detective genre.

This same goes for floating sinks, which are mounted directly to the wall with no support required beneath.
