Kevin Bacon Makes Directorial Debut with Showtime's 'Losing Chase'
August 18, 2020  | By TV WW  | 1 comment

On this day in 1996, Showtime debuted the film Losing Chase, which marked the directorial debut of actor Kevin Bacon.

The film starred Helen Mirren as a woman whose breakdown prompts her husband (Beau Bridges) to hire a helper (Kyra Sedgwick) to care for the couple's two young sons. Mirren won a Golden Globe for the role.

Sedgwick, Bacon's wife, executive produced the film, and Bacon's brother, Michael, wrote the film's score. (Later they would form the musical duo, The Bacon Brothers.)

Bacon debuted Losing Chase earlier in the year at the Sundance Film Festival. Following its Showtime premiere, the film also had a limited theatrical release.

We have been in the business of keeping vehicles running for many years, and we know how crucial regular preventative maintenance is to avoid costly breakdowns and keep your trucks on the road.
