The series starred John Lithgow as Dick Solomon, the extraterrestrials' commander, who obtains a position as a physics professor. French Stewart, Kristen Johnston and Joseph Gordon-Levitt portrayed his fellow beings, Harry, Sally and Tommy. Jane Curtin was Dick's college colleague and occasional girlfriend.

The series ran six seasons.
