Romance novels have maybe never been more popular; and as the upcoming PBS documentary Guilty Pleasures points out, one is sold about every four seconds around the world. Premiering Thursday, July 12 (check local listings) it unmasks the writers shaping this large part of the publishing industry, but it's also a humorous and touching look at ordinary readers and why they love to escape into them. –EG
