GEO BEE 2012
May 24, 2012  | By David Bianculli

National Geographic, 8:00 p.m. ET

The highest and lowest points in the contiguous United States are both located in which state? What term is used for the two halves of Earth that are divided by the Equator? Which country on the Scandinavian Peninsula is largest in area? Those are just a few of the questions student contestants could face in tonight's championship round of the annual National Geographic Bee. Hosted by Alex Trebek, the show simulcasts on Nat Geo WILD, and will be shown later on various PBS stations (check local listings).
