FALL PREMIERES: Mark your calendar
July 23, 2010  | By Diane Werts

hawaii five-0 cbs 2010 fall.jpg

If you love TV and you've got plans to do something else the week of Sept. 20, change 'em. The broadcast networks are loading up a "fall premiere week" like they haven't done in ages.

A whopping 68 shows will either debut or return for new seasons the week of Sept. 20-27. That Thursday night alone, there are 14 series/season premieres across the five major networks (ABC, CBS, CW, Fox, NBC).

If you love TV and you don't have a DVR, get one.

(And we haven't even factored in cable yet.)

Here's a handy chronological list compiled from the networks' official fall-lineup announcements. As always, be prepared for last-minute shuffles, adds, deletions and other competitive changes.

New shows in CAPS. All times ET.

GREAT!... Now tell us what's worth our time :)

I mean Hawaii Five-0 with Grace Park is enough for me to spend an hour but after that, I need help.

[Don't worry -- we're already working on our fall preview. Hope to have the site redesign up first, though. We'll definitely help you decide what to watch. And after screening the pilot, I'd say the Hawaii Five-0 reboot isn't bad, even to a huge fan of the original like me. - Diane]

Yup, definitely going to need some help with 68 shows without including cable!!! And now I have a really good excuse to get that DVR. But which one? Is there a site dedicated to what's what in TV technology that you know of?

I'm on a really tight budget or it wouldn't matter much which one I chose. Maybe it's impossible to figure out who has the best plan for the $$$? I know I spent over an hour with local cable only to find out I was better off not taking their bundle package and staying with AT&T phone and DSL. (This reminds me of Medicare Part D.) ;;sigh; Plus they probably have promotions depending on where one lives.

My plan is to get an HD Internet ready TV. Maybe Roku ,
drop down to the most basic of cable packages, ditto on Netflix, maybe switch to Dish or that other satellite plan, or AT& T's new service which may really just be one of the above satellite plans.

In other words, I really need a plan! And September is going to be here way too fast!

Looking forward to the new Hawaii 5-0. Big hype on our local CBS station, of course, out here in the islands. One of the independent stations still reruns the original series nightly so the draw is still there. Looking forward to your review of the 1st episode. Be honest and don't worry about breaking any hopes. Aloha Diane. Bill & "M".
