MONDAYS WITH MICHELLE OBAMA
May 25, 2020  | By David Bianculli  | 1 comment

PBS KIDS, 12:00 p.m. ET

This weekly series of national read-alongs has been extended, and for this Memorial Day edition, host Michelle Obama makes room for two more children’s books to be read aloud, with illustrations shown, for young viewers. Both of today’s selections come with punctuation attached: Oh, The Places You’ll Go! by Dr. Seuss is one selection, and Can I Be Your Dog? by Troy Cummings, which will be read by a “very special guest,” is the other. Mondays with Michelle Obama also is shown online on the Facebook and YouTube Mondays with Michelle Obama pages or channels. Check local listings.

It’s wonderful to see Michelle Obama reading out loud favorites like Oh, the Places You’ll Go! by Dr. Seuss and Can I Be Your Dog? by Troy Cummings. Children’s books can open up worlds of imagination and growth. If you're looking for more stories for kids—especially in Urdu—this site shares a great collection: https://abibliophile.com/children-novels-in-urdu/
. It’s such a nice way to blend culture, language, and storytelling for young readers.
