SEVEN WORLDS, ONE PLANET
January 18, 2020  | By David Bianculli

BBC America, 9:00 p.m. ET

SERIES PREMIERE: This newest ambitious nature documentary series from the BBC is so amazing – in content, visuals, technology, emotional resonance – all I can do is beg you to watch it. And to watch it, if possible, with your children and/or grandchildren, because these programs will connect deeply with every viewer regardless of age. (It’s simulcast on AMC, IFC, and Sundance TV, if that helps.) Sir David Attenborough narrates, and is the perfect tour guide for these breathtaking looks at the planet’s different continents. The series now starts with the episode devoted to Australia, to tap into and connect with the current news about that land’s runaway wildfires. For my review on NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross, visit the Fresh Air website, and for a review here at TVWW, see David Hinckley's All Along the Watchtower.
