CBS SUNDAY MORNING
October 20, 2019  | By David Bianculli  | 1 comment

CBS, 9:00 a.m. ET

As part of today’s program, Lee Cowan interviews three collaborators of Martin Scorsese’s upcoming The Irishman, providing the first joint interview with three giants of crime cinema: director Scorsese and actors Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. I haven’t seen this in advance, but here’s what I’m hoping for most of all: After Cowan asks a question of this talented trio, De Niro looks straight at the interviewer and asks, “You talkin’ to me?”

No,there was no special De Niro moment during the CBS Sunday Morning interview. My point is to moan the continued host Jane Pauley and executive producer Rand Morrison who have devalued the Nature scenes to often less than thirty seconds, have features on non-worthy actors like Mitzi Gaynor and force feeding us the angst of transexual young adults, etc. It is past time to find a better exec producer and maybe encourage Jane to leave with him. It has become a shell of what it once was. Mo Rocca on the good side of Herbert Hoover in 2019? No thanks.
