Friday nights are good times to nestle into the couch and watch a good movie on TV – and tonight, The Movie Channel presents a very good one indeed. This 2012 movie, directed and adapted by David O. Russell from a partly autobiographical novel by Matthew Quick, is a gem. The performances – especially but not exclusively by Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence as the seemingly mismatched central couple – are honest, credible and unexpectedly volatile. And, in support, Robert De Niro and Jacki Weaver are fabulous, too.
