PILOT PREVIEW: Today’s the day Amazon unveils its newest batch of pilots, letting website visitors watch them, react to them and therefore have some sort of say, however marginal, in which shows are picked up for series. Here’s the best new drama of this 2015 crop, and a show well worth supporting. It’s from Frank Spotnitz, one of the veteran X-Files writer-producers, and is an excitingly intriguing adaptation of the novel by Philip K. Dick, whose other stories inspired, among other great speculative movies, Blade Runner. This alternate-reality series, set in 1962, imagines a world in which the Allies lost WWII, with the U.S. split up into Japanese and German territories. To see the show, visit Amazon’s Pilot Season web page. For a full review, see Bianculli’s Blog.

Great 2 episodes--i'm hooked. Lots of good reviews and the characters are well drawn. Just lost that scene stealer Rufus Sewell in Victoria, so was delighted to see him featured here.

I had never heard of this series until David mentioned it (with highest praise) on 'Fresh Air'. So, I tried it and am bowled over by the acting and characterization, the textured plots, the inspiration for LOTS of interesting intellectual discussion about 'what would have happened IF...' and the standard-setting special effects. Thank you, David. I will be looking over your other recommendations, mostly because surfing through 500 channels is a big waste of time. Your guide = good advice.

A limp attempt at imagining a different post-war. The historical and graphic errors are so replete that this show merits not a minute of your time. For God's sake, at least know which way a swastika faces and before broadcast speak to college student with 2 weeks of German language instruction.

Don't waste your time or your intelligence on this Schmarrn!
