Boyd (Walt Goggins) has decided to target the crime kingpin who threatened Ava. Raylan (Timothy Olyphant) has decided to target the sinister outsider who’s buying up all the local land. Turns out they’re both after the same guy, played by Sam Elliott – but that doesn’t mean they’re working together. In fact, as this show builds towards its series finale, just the opposite is true, while, also occupying center stage, is Garret Dillahunt, playing yet another memorable villain, as he did twice, also opposite Olyphant, on HBO’s Deadwood.
