Alexandra Pelosi’s latest documentary for HBO is this very brief, very sympathetic biographical study of former New Jersey governor Jim McGreevey. It’s not her first documentary that revolves around religion, homosexuality, scandal and redemption – she’s already done a profile of disgraced evangelist Ted Haggard. But – but this one plays out against the backdrop of Washington, DC, which Pelosi knows very well.
