After playing The Human Torch in the Fantastic 4 movies, Chris Evans took center stage in another Marvel movie franchise based on a comic book – as Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, in this 2011 origin film. He’s since played the same character in 2012’s The Avengers and 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and is scheduled to appear in both installments of both franchises. Evans’ co-star in this first Captain America movie is Hayley Atwell, portraying WWII agent Peggy Carter – a part she just finished reprising in ABC’s Marvel’s Agent Carter.
