SEASON PREMIERE: This is the sixth and final season of this improbably entertaining animated series, about the everyday misadventures and problems of a former talking-horse TV star. Will Arnett provides the voice of this equine has-been, and believe it or not, it’s one of Arnett’s best roles. This final go-round is divided into two half-season chunks (the first eight episodes arriving today, and the final eight dropping next January). Bojack – the horse, not the series – starts the season in and out of rehab, which means we get to see him sober for a change. But not for the entire season… Meanwhile, he’s at least doing better than his old, bitter co-star, who’s dying of cancer. But still cracking jokes…

SEASON PREMIERE: Among the new players added for Season 2 of this Chuck Lorre comedy, made expressly for streaming and Netflix, is Jane Seymour, playing an old, old friend who comes back into the picture… perhaps romantically. Alan Arkin stars, along with Michael Douglas.

Tonight is Game 3 of this already exciting and unpredictable World Series, with a change of both venues and rules. The first two games were played in Houston, where the Astros had not only the home-field advantage, but the extra advantage of playing under American League rules, which provides for the designated hitter rule. Now that the action is shifting to a National League venue, with the Washington Nationals playing host on their field, the NL rules apply – which means pitchers must take their turns at bat, which should be a slight advantage for the Nationals. A much bigger advantage: The Nationals won both of their away games against the Astros, and return to their home park with an already commanding 2-0 lead in this best-of-seven World Series.

Tonight’s new American Masters installment profiles one of the leaders of the abstract expressionist movement. The question is: Did Mark Rothko really lead the movement? Or was he framed? Check local listings.

Le Bron James has turned his casual HBO talk show into one of TV’s best, and most frank, places for conversation, about race and role models as well as sports and athleticism. Tonight, a new installment – and among the guests stopping by The Shop is a familiar face from another HBO series: Bill Hader of Barry.
HBO, 10:00 p.m. ET
Among tonight’s scheduled guests: Chris Cuomo of CNN and Zach Galifianakis.
