Johnny Depp's recent film, Dark Shadows, got mixed reviews, but, not surprisingly, Depp's portrayal of campy vampire Barnabas Collins fared much better with critics than the film's script. Depp has a deft touch when it comes to playing over-the-top characters, and his talents are particularly evident in this, the first film in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, and its sequels.
